The friendly staff were always willing to assist with any request. The cleanliness of the room was immaculate, and the hot breakfast every morning was a good start to my day.
Limited parking available.

My room was spotlessly clean thanks to the exceptional staff. I didn't have time and missed the English breakfast. The location was particularly good, right by O2 Academy and plenty of hot water and easily accessible. Plus, I was just a short walk away from Florence Park. Enjoyed the stay here and I would book again.

The hotel is so GREAT, the staff is courteous. We had a buffet breakfast and liked the quality of the food.

Clean, tidy room equipped with tea bags, coffee, and a functional kettle. The free parking at the rear is a solid perk for anyone driving in.
It's been two years since they served it. The walk to the nearest bus stop or attractions is over a mile, which might not suit everyone.

Reception was friendly, location handy for meeting location and Oxford City Centre, and cost was reasonable.

Free parking. This is an adequate hotel, not much actual pleasure involved in a stay here.
Poor quality fittings in bedroom and bathroom, very poor shower.

Proper cozy room, clean as a whistle! Staff were lovely and made me feel right at home. I really enjoyed the top-notch brekkie. Only downside was the no-window room, felt a bit cramped, if ya know what I mean.

We had the room with the four-poster bed. It was warm, clean and well-decorated. The staff were very friendly and provided an excellent standard of customer service. The breakfast was plentiful, tasty and well-cooked. The hotel was located near a bus stop and was only a few minutes by bus from Oxford city centre.
My wife didn't like the fact that there was a carpet in the bathroom.

Made welcome on arrival. Quiet bedroom overlooking car park with comfortable bed. Plus point were hooks on the bathroom for dressing gown etc. Good choice of breakfasts well cooked and presented. Help with local transport arrangements. Good value.

The staff were very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was good with a good range of choices. Room was adequate with digital tv and hair dryer. Being able to park at the back was a key reason for my choice and really helpful. I felt happy to leave the car there while going into Oxford. Plenty of power sockets. I would recommend this hotel if what you want is somewhere friendly with safe parking and close/convenient to Oxford. but I also have reservations as shown below. Overall served it's purpose for me which was somewhere close to Oxford with safe parking provisions and a bed.
The room I was in was at the front of the hotel and was noisy with the window open. Road noisy is ok as background noise but there is some sort of uneven road surface outside which made it impossible to keep window open and get any sleep. The shower room is tiny but adequate but you need to sit on the loo at an angle because of the positioning of the wash basin. Not sure where else you would put it though. Carpeting throughout means that there is a fair amount of dust despite daily cleaning and I am asthmatic which was a problem and some of the aerosoles/cleaning agents were also a little bit of a problem for me. It would be good to have a spare pillow somewhere in the room if needed.

The room was super clean, and the location right by a bus stop made getting into the city easy. A real gem for a quick getaway.
But that shower? It barely worked, reminded me of I was getting rained on by a toddler with a hose! And the small bathroom? Let's just say it was a tight squeeze.

We arrived just before 12.00 noon and John made us a very welcome cup of coffee. He was very helpful, and we were in a location that was ideal for us. The Balkan Lodge, although old fashioned, was very clean and comfortable and we would definitely stay here again.
